Job summary

Intact FC in Canada is seeking an Accounting Manager for Distribution & Private Equity to lead internal reporting and complex consolidations within a hybrid work environment. The role emphasizes collaboration with distribution entities and finance partners to optimize performance.

The candidate should have a CPA designation or equivalent with 8–10 years of IFRS/accounting experience, plus knowledge of insurance industry assets.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting with distribution entities and finance teams.
• Analyze results with business partners and consolidate entities with eliminations.
• Advise on accounting and operationalization of complex transactions and restructurings.
• Support business units in financial performance management, including private equity portfolio.
• Lead financial systems and accounting process improvements.
• Enhance controls and standardize work files.
• Provide recommendations to management based on expertise.

Salary range (but not limited to):

118,700 - 145,100

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35‑hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. What you’ll do here:

Management of internal monthly, quarterly, and year‑end reporting by working closely with various distribution entities and finance teams.

Analyze and understand results in collaboration with business partners.

Consolidate our different entities with handling of eliminations entries

Advise the team on the accounting and operationalization of complex transactions and financial restructurings.

Support our business units in the management of their financial performance, including our portfolio of private equity.

Spearhead the financial systems and accounting processes improvement initiatives.

Simplify, standardize, secure and increase controls of different work files.

Make recommendations and suggestions to management based on your expertise.

What you bring to the table:

Professional accounting designation (CPA) or any combination of equivalent education and experience.

You have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in accounting, IFRS accounting standards and/or finance.

Experience in management of talent is a strong asset

Experience in consolidation in large companies with complex legal structures.

Knowledge of the insurance industry is an asset.

Fast learning, agility and adaptability to change.

Discipline, autonomy, resourcefulness and professionalism.

Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Can interact with various people at all levels of the organization, including management and some external stakeholders.

For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English‑speaking colleagues across the country.
