Taylor Ryan Executive Search Partners is collaborating exclusively with Arrowleaf Real Estate Holdings Ltd in their search for an Accounting Manager. Headquartered in Vernon, British Columbia, Arrowleaf Real Estate Holdings Ltd. (“Arrowleaf”) is a rapidly growing real estate investment and development company with an established portfolio of multi-family, industrial, retail, and office assets across Canada.

We take a long-term view in our developments and investments, with a desire to improve our community through our projects. With a substantial development pipeline, as well as several partnerships and projects already underway, we are searching for a highly organized and proactive Accounting Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Accounting Manager will work alongside internal and external accounting and tax professionals to provide financial accounting and reporting for development projects, income producing properties, and the overall organization.

About the Role

Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Accounting Manager will work alongside internal and external accounting and tax professionals to provide financial accounting and reporting for development projects, income producing properties, and the overall organization.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the accounting operations for multiple companies including oversight of the financial reporting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes.
  • Ensure financial records are accurate and in compliance with IFRS accounting standards.
  • Manage year-end audit, including preparation of consolidated financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of IFRS standards and lead the interpretation and implementation of new standards.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance in IFRS and support to the finance and operational teams.
  • Manage corporate filing procedures ensuring punctual completion and precision.
  • Prepare corporate tax returns for review by external tax advisors.
  • Provide monthly and/or quarterly consolidated financial statements in a timely manner.
  • Analyze performance against plans to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct financial analysis and other performance reporting as needed.
  • Contribute to cash flow and liquidity management to support operational needs and financial obligations.
  • Contribute to the budget management initiatives, including preparation of corporate budget, cash flow forecasts, and financial projections.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial and other records.
  • Ensure banking and other compliance reporting is fulfilled.
  • Administer document management systems to uphold organized and readily accessible financial records.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally related to real estate development and/or investment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Yardi) and Microsoft 365, especially MS Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS accounting handbook principles and procedures, including consolidated financial statement preparation and related note disclosures.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • CPA designation.
