Job description

Adecco is actively seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a full-time role with a leading manufacturing company in Scarborough, ON. This position is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, inventory control, and team management. The ideal candidate is a CPA with strong experience in QuickBooks Online, inventory systems, and ERP support. This is a key leadership role in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

  • Pay Rate: $95k-$110k/year.
  • Location: Scarborough, ON

Responsibilities:
  • Utilizing QuickBooks Online to input and manage all financial transactions, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
  • Tracking inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) on a monthly basis and generating in-depth inventory control reports such as bill of materials (BOM), work-in-progress (WIP), and valuation summaries.
  • Managing subsidiary accounts through verification, posting, and reconciliation, while resolving any bank-related inconsistencies.
  • Processing accounts receivable and payable, including proper allocation, reconciliation, and posting.
  • Assisting in the creation and delivery of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Preparing and submitting detailed financial reports with a strong emphasis on precision and compliance.
  • Maintaining and updating the general ledger by transferring data, preparing trial balances, and performing reconciliations.
  • Compiling financial data to create balance sheets, income statements, and other financial summaries.
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive financial data and protecting the integrity of company information.
  • Posting monthly adjusting journal entries as required.
  • Managing intercompany accounting functions and performing related reconciliations.
  • Completing government reporting and remittances accurately and on time.
  • Participating in ad hoc financial projects and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including ERP system implementations.
Requirements:
  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • A CPA designation in good standing.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • A university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline (BCom/BSc).
  • Team management experience, with the ability to lead, mentor, and support accounting staff.
  • Hands-on experience working with QuickBooks Online and inventory management platforms, ideally for 2-3 years.
  • Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP and financial statement preparation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset.
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt in a fast-changing, high-volume environment.
  • Prior involvement in ERP implementation projects is an asset.
