About The Role

Reporting to Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and assisting in the maintenance of FNBC, and its subsidiary, FNB Trust’s accounting and financial reporting process to produce accurate and timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders and meeting audit and regulatory requirements. This permanent full-time opportunity is based out of our Head Office in Saskatoon, SK which is located on First Nations land.

Here's what you will be doing:

  • Liaise and coordinate with Chief Financial Officer, Finance team and other business units as required, to evaluate requirements and coordinate accounting and financial reporting deliverables.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Maintain and update financial records in an organized manner
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining the general ledger and accounting system
  • Prepare, review, and/or approve reconciliations, including bank accounts, accounts payable, and other general ledger accounts
  • Implement financial policies and procedures where necessary
  • Provide external and internal audit support
  • Provide guidance, train and manage staff
  • Complete special projects and undertake new initiatives as they arrive
  • Lead, manage, and support accounting team to achieve departmental goals and ensure timely tasks completion

About You

  • A strong Knowledge of and experience with accounting systems and processes
  • Experience with external financial reporting and management reporting
  • Knowledge of financial institutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Designation of Chartered Professional Accountant
  • 3-5 years experience in assurance and/or accounting roles
