As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting budgeting and forecasting. Reporting to the President and working closely with our external accounting partner, you will play a hands-on role in financial management while ensuring compliance with accounting policies and HR regulations. This role also collaborates with our Virtual CFO to ensure smooth financial operations.

Objectives of this role :

  • Develop and implement financial processes and controls to maintain fiscal health.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and employment regulations.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting and insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Lead HR administration and employee benefits programs, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Summary of responsibilities :

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable and payable, general ledger, payroll, outstanding transactions, and revenue recognition.
  • Oversee media billing reconciliation, ensuring alignment between purchase orders, vendor invoices, and platform spend with approved budgets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, preparing regular updates for the President and virtual CFO.
  • Collaborate with external accounting partners to ensure efficient processing of payments and expenses.
  • Provide data-driven insights and variance analysis to support financial forecasting alongside the CFO and Account Service team.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process by supporting the CFO and President with reliable financial data and projections.
  • Monitor trends in revenue, expenses, and operational costs to identify opportunities for financial efficiency.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining financial accuracy and transparency.
  • HR administration :

  • Manage corporate insurance requirements across the agency, building, and business partners.
  • Maintain employee records in our project management tool (Function Point) and HR management software (BambooHR).
  • Track and manage time off, leaves, and employment status updates.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and perks.
  • What you bring :

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Experience managing HR, payroll, and employment law compliance.
  • Proficiency in financial software, HR management tools, and payroll systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous experience with QuickBooks Online and BambooHR is a strong asset.
  • FunctionPoint knowledge is an asset.
  • CPA designation is an asset.
