Job description

Were Banditos your new favorite Mexi-Can lager? Born from a 4AM idea and brewed with rogue spirit, we're not just making beer — we're building a movement. We challenge the status quo, defy convention, and live for what's great in life. Our team is a mix of brewers, creatives, strategists, and service pros, all united by one mission: to shake up the beer world with golden, smooth liquid and a legendary brand story.

We're looking for an Accounting Manager who's as bold with numbers as we are with hops. You'll be the financial backbone of our fast-growing operation, keeping us compliant, efficient, and ready to scale. You should lead with precision but also bring entrepreneurial fire that thrives in a start-up rewriting the rules.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Lead accounting operations through month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements and timely data collection from department managers.
  • Manage accounts receivable/payable, restaurant invoicing, and LCBO system interactions.
  • Prepare and submit all beer and liquor tax filings and payments.
  • Produce regular financial reports, including weekly sales, inventory analyses, month-end commentary, product profitability reviews, and updates on receivables.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling; maintain and optimize finance systems (QuickBooks, Ekos, etc.) by partnering with vendors to automate workflows.
  • Collaborate with the brewmaster on inventory control and production planning, monitoring beer production and stock levels to anticipate needs based on sales and trends.
  • Review current financial processes, recommend improvements, and lead policy and system change implementations for compliance and efficiency.
  • Assist with audit preparations and maintain internal controls, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Identify operational gaps, anticipate future needs, and communicate recommendations proactively.
  • Embrace a fast-paced entrepreneurial culture: demonstrate flexibility, initiative, assertiveness, and ownership of evolving responsibilities.
  • Research and recommend external employee benefit partners.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years in a finance or accounting role within manufacturing, brewery, or CPG environments.
  • Familiarity with beer industry practices, LCBO systems, and beer tax regulations is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of financial procedures, accounting regulations (GAAP), financial modeling, and project management.
  • Mastery of financial systems, especially Ekos and QuickBooks, partnering with vendors to automate workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and deliver accurate, timely financial information.
  • Ability to independently lead and evolve finance operations, setting standards for performance.
  • Comfortable working independently and cross-functionally with minimal supervision.
  • Self-starter who anticipates needs, brings solutions, and thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial culture.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and composed under pressure.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and eager to grow with a brand going places.
  • Open to feedback, willing to evolve responsibilities as the company grows.
  • Trusted by leadership for day-to-day financial operations.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:

  • Competitive salary
  • Paid time off
  • Flexible remote work with transition to on-site facilities as they evolve
  • Career growth in a rapidly scaling company
  • A team that values creativity, hustle, and good times
  • A chance to be part of something legendary

We believe every employee should have the opportunity to participate and succeed. We are committed to a workplace culture of respect, inclusion, and diversity. If you require accommodations during the application process, please forward your resume to us.
