Job summary

RECRUITMENT PARTNERS INC. is representing a client in Canada seeking an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and the financial reporting function.

The role reports to the Financial Controller and requires strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership, and a process-improvement mindset. The successful candidate will manage month-end close, prepare detailed financial statements and analyses, and drive improvements across accounting controls and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• CPA designation preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
• Experience within construction or a project-based environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Manage month-end and year-end close activities and ensure timely reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting analyses.
• Monitor financial performance, investigate variances, and provide actionable insights.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives.
• Oversee accounts payable activities and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Strengthen accounting controls, processes, and reporting practices.
• Support ERP optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and develop team members while fostering a collaborative environment.
