The ideal candidate holds a university degree in commerce or accounting, 2+ years in public practice, and strong GAAP/tax knowledge.

• Prepare and review audit and review engagements and non‑assurance financial statements with appropriate disclosures.
• Prepare and review corporate (T2), personal (T1), and other tax returns (T3, T4, T5, etc.).
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, tax legislation, and professional standards.
• Review working paper files and provide detailed review notes for quality control purposes.
• Mentor and support junior staff in file preparation and use of software such as Caseware and Sage.
• Provide advisory support to clients on tax, payroll, CRA matters, and general business inquiries.
• Assist with practice management functions, including monitoring updates to CPA standards and tax rules.
• Participate in client meetings and occasional local travel as required.

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an Accounting Manager (CPA) for our client, a well-established and client-focused Chartered Professional Accounting firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a designated CPA who enjoys working independently, mentoring junior staff, and delivering high-quality financial and tax services to a diverse client base.

What you'll be doing:

• Prepare and review audit and review engagements and non-assurance financial statements with appropriate disclosures
• Prepare and review corporate (T2), personal (T1), and other tax returns (T3, T4, T5, etc.)
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, tax legislation, and professional standards
• Review working paper files and provide detailed review notes for quality control purposes
• Mentor and support junior staff in file preparation and use of software such as Caseware and Sage
• Provide advisory support to clients on tax, payroll, CRA matters, and general business inquiries
• Assist with practice management functions, including monitoring updates to CPA standards and tax rules
• Participate in client meetings and occasional local travel as required

What we're looking for:
