Previous accounting management experience is essential, along with the ability to step in, work independently, and quickly get up to speed in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

  • Lead and support the accounting team, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including payment processing, cheque runs, and follow-ups on overdue accounts.
  • Manage payroll administration.
  • Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly provincial sales tax remittances.
  • Coordinate month-end and period-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
  • Administer and oversee inventory counts, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with policies and procedures while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot ERP system issues related to accounting and inventory.
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support special projects within the finance function as required.

Education:

  • Post secondary in accounting or finance is required.
  • CPA designation or similar is an asset but not mandatory.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in an Accounting/Payroll role required.
  • Experience in manufacturing is a plus.
  • Cost accounting experience is a strong asset.

Base Salary:$80,000 – 85,000

  • Full benefits package included following 3-month probation period.

Work Hours:

  • 40 hours per week.
  • Monday to Friday.

  • This position is not remote and required to be on-site.

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
