Job summary

Forge Consulting Group is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead key finance functions in a Canada-based role. You will support month-end to year-end closes, prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and accruals, and resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Strong Excel skills and financial analysis capabilities.
• Pursuing or working toward Canadian CPA designation.
• Experience with US sales tax and US-based entities is an asset.
• Knowledge of Canadian and US GAAP.

Job description

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Oversee key accounting and finance functions
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, accruals, AP and AR
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Prepare and review U.S. sales tax reconciliations
• Oversee HST and government filings and remittances
• Support financial and tax audits
• Assist with consolidation and reporting for U.S.-based operations
• Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. GAAP
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
• Review and authorize payments in accordance with established procedures
• Support corporate tax, compliance, and legal entity requirements
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership
• Help oversee the daily operations of the accounting department

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
• Currently pursuing or working toward a Canadian CPA designation
• Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and analytical skills
• Experience with U.S. sales tax and/or U.S.-based entities is an asset
• Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. GAAP
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP / Great Plains is strongly preferred
• Strong Excel skills — intermediate to advanced
• Excellent problem-solving and investigative abilities
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
