The new Accounting Manager will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the organization’s financial records and reporting. The Manager will conduct and oversee full-cycle accounting, month/quarter/year-end, financial reporting (under ASPNO), budgeting & forecasting, cash-flow management, P&L, balance sheet, and analysis that supports informed decision-making across the organization. This role offers a balance of hands‑on accounting work and analysis, with opportunity to positively influence accounting processes, policies, and systems in the long‑term. Leading a team 1 to 2 people.
On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a CPA-designated accounting professional with at least 7 years of relevant work experience and a strong foundation in full-cycle accounting. Qualified candidates will have work experience doing full-cycle corporate accounting and operational accounting- ideally in the NPO sector, but also open to candidates who have mostly worked in public sector or private sector. Foundational training in a public practice accounting firm is preferred, but not required. We are looking for people who are detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in an environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Competitive base salary commensurate with level of accounting skills, qualifications, and experience, in the range of $95,000 to $110,000.
We acknowledge that this is slightly below market for a Manager-level role, but please do keep in mind that employment with this values-based NPO comes with better-than-average work/life balance relative to most other senior accounting roles in Vancouver.
