We are dedicated to crafting excellence in every vine, cultivating multiple distinct grape varieties including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Marechal, Foch and Regent, across our varied geographic locations from as far south as Osoyoos to as far north as Vernon.
We are seeking an Accounting Coordinator who is responsible for the Winery’s general bookkeeping requirements, working in conjunction with the Head Office. The position responsibilities cover accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash controls, reconciliations, project cost tracking, budgets and forecasts.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable coordination with external suppliers and coordination for payment with Head Office
- Preparing POs
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and gather proper approvals and assign GL coding
- Keying of A/P invoices into accounting system or upload files, submitting for payment
- Processing payments of approved suppliers with credit cards
- Reconciling supplier and credit card statements
- Processing employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies
- Assisting with inquiries regarding payment status
- Oversee internal system of handling cash, including the daily cash counts and bank deposits; perform daily reconciliation of cash
- Prepare cheque and cash deposits
- Performing daily sales reconciliations
- Prepare customer invoices and follow up on outstanding A/R for on-account customers
- Reconcile customer accounts
- Perform project and cost tracking for construction-related projects
- Work with head office in preparation of month-end working papers and journal entries
- Assist with preparation for any audits
- Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities
- Maintain up-to-date, complete and systematic filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records
- Support Department Managers in providing bookkeeping needs and analysis of financial information as required
- May participate in the preparation of the budgets and financial forecasts
- Provide coverage for other Accounting team members as required
- Other administrative tasks as required
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or related field is considered an asset
- 3-5 years of experience of accounting practices in a high-volume environment
- Excellent computer skills required
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- General understanding of computerized accounting systems
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Quick Books Online and Adobe, Google Suite
- Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work both in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization

What we offer
The pay range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000.
It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, education, experience, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
