Job Description Summary
The Client Accounting Coordinator is responsible for providing accounting, technical and clerical support to Client Accounting personnel. The position works closely with Accountants, and may take direction from Accounting Managers, Controller or Vice President of Client Accounting. The position is responsible for fulfilling support functions which may include, but are not limited to, bank reconciliation, deposit verification, accounts payable, cheque printing, and providing audit documentation. A successful Client Accounting Coordinator ensures timeliness and accuracy when completing all assigned team functions.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
TheClient Accounting Coordinatorwill use sound judgment and due diligence in executing the following responsibilities:
- Daily download of bank statements, and preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Review and posting of deposit batches in accounting software (Yardi).
- Review of accounts payable invoices for accuracy and correct expense classification prior to posting in accounting software (Yardi).
- Assist the disbursements team with cheque printing and organizing couriers to deliver cheques to client sites.
- Assist Accountants with the coordination and collection of documents requested by auditors.
- Assist Accountants with printing and /or collating reports to support financial analysis
- Supports and enforces internal controls established by the department and company and discloses any weaknesses relating to such controls or the lack thereof.
- Other accounting related duties or responsibilities as required or requested.
SKILLS AND ABILITY:
Technical
- A detail-oriented work ethic.
- An aptitude for numbers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Prior experience with Yardi or similar accounting software is preferred.

EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE:
- Post secondary education or equivalent.
- Prior accounting work experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is described as light in physical demand. Requirements include the ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, and reach forward and overhead, finger, and grasp. Must be able to occasionally bend, crouch, or stoop. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Must have close and distance vision as well as the ability to adjust focus.
