Base pay range

CA$60,000.00 / yr - CA$70,000.00 / yr

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to provide general accounting, billing and project accounting controls in a fasted pace, friendly environment. The role will work closely with our CFO and Management to provide support for invoicing, accounts receivables, payables, and review of monthly project financial reports. The candidate will coordinate with internal project managers and clients to ensure that the invoices are accurate and are compliant with the project contract.

The role will be full time at 37.5 hours / week. There will be opportunities for 1-2 days / week working from home after the first 6 months.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process client billing based on project milestones, time tracking, and contractual terms.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable and payable.
  • Manage cash flow and payables, under direction of the CFO
  • Assist with collection of accounts receivable
  • Assist with project cost tracking and budget monitoring.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Generate financial reports for internal use and CFO review.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate financial documentation and billing.
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and client contract requirements.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a professional services or consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or industry-specific ERP systems).
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in coordinating with technical and non-financial staff.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with project-based accounting
  • Familiarity with engineering or architectural consulting workflows.
  • Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Support external audits and provide necessary documentation.
