A leading organization seeks a motivated individual for a full-time position in the Finance department located in Inuvik, NT. The role involves bookkeeping, financial reporting, and collaboration with stakeholders. Candidates should possess relevant accounting qualifications and experience to effectively manage financial operations.
LOCATION:INUVIK, NT (Must be willing to relocate to Inuvik)
POSITIONSTATUS: FULL-TIME (37.5 HOURS PER WEEK)
The GTC is seeking a highly motivatedindividual to work in partnership with the Financial Controller, serve theFinance department, in many responsibilities, including accounts payable andreceivable, as well as external partners such as vendors, clients, staff andfunders. They will help with bookkeeping, financial reporting, sales tax, and audits.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Compiling, analyzing, andreporting financial data alongside other employees of the accountingdepartment.
2. Making entries in the accountingsystems.
3. Assisting with sales taxpreparation, audits, and the detection and resolution of accounting and finance issues.
4. Serving as a bridge betweenaccounting and external stakeholders, such as clients, suppliers, and lenders,by acting as a point of contact between internal departments and accounting.
5. Ensuring that all financialrecords are full and correct by using business software and inserting data intocorporate files or databases.
6. Assisting in the payment ofvendor invoices and the collection of receivables.
7. Implementing and enforcingfinancial and inventory controls.
8. Maintaining knowledge of thecompany's financial rules and policies, as well as those of the local andfederal agencies.
9. Performs other duties that maybe required.
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
The ideal candidate will have:
• An Accounting College degree orbachelor's degree in accounting, business administration preferred, or asimilar discipline is required.
• Minimum five years' experiencein bookkeeping, management, or a related profession.
• Certification as a CertifiedPublic Accountant (CPA) or Certified Aboriginal Finance Manager CAFM may begiven priority.
• Excellent interpersonal, timemanagement, problem-solving, and numeracy abilities, both verbally and inwriting.
• Accounting concepts andfinancial reporting are all well understood.
• Proficiency with computers,especially Microsoft products and Business systems, strong typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and writtencommunication, interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and mathskills.
