WHO YOU ARE:
Candidates will have the following qualifications:
· Completion of a two-year Accounting Certificate through a post-secondary program or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of one year of experience in an accounting role.
· Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices with respect to accounts payables, accounts receivables, expense claims, and payroll processing are required.
·Superior accounting clerical aptitude is required.
·Knowledge of ACCPAC or other computerized accounting software is required.
·Proficient in an automated office environment including demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office 365 such as: Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, and TEAMS.
·Proficient written and oral communication skills typically demonstrated preparing a variety of correspondence and providing front line member service; and
·Thorough understanding of the Saskatchewan labour movement and trade unions is an asset.
Candidates will have the following primary duties and the knowledge, skills and abilities to complete them:
·Superior organization skills with a proven ability to multi-task promptly and professionally;
·Precisely processes employee and member expenses,
·Responsible for issuing Purchase Orders, and reconciling invoices for payment, cheques and bank deposits;
· Provides coverage for payroll processing;
·Accurately maintains accounts receivables, membership check-off records, and inventory control records;
·Prepares statistical and fiscal reports for outside agencies and for presentations to internal governance bodies;
·Correspond with internal/external stakeholders to obtain information or to clarify accounting policies or procedures;
·Assists with inventory control, administration of the SGEU’s group insurance, purchasing requisitions, and other accounting tasks as assigned;
·Ability to exercise discretion and to support confidential matters, correspondence, and inquiries;
·A high degree of diplomacy, discretion, professional maturity and judgement.

HOURS OF WORK:
This term position will be headquartered in Regina, Saskatchewan. The standard hours of work for this position are 32 hours per week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday.
