Reporting to the Coordinator, Revenue Services, the Accounting Clerk I is responsible for front-counter customer service and payment processing at City Hall, and supporting accounting clerk duties for cash collections, utility billing, property taxes, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and banking support. This position requires having open availability and being available with short notice.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1-year related experience dealing with customers, cash handling, multi-tasking, and account reconciling.
Completion of basic entry level accounting courses is required.
The ideal candidate will be team-orientated and possess exceptional interpersonal and customer relations skills.
The ability to communicate (both verbally and in writing) effectively in a positive and courteous manner is essential.
The incumbent must work with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite are required, especially with Excel and Word.
Previous experience with Foxit PDF, Great Plains/Diamond, Intelli Point of Sale, and Financial Systems is essential for this role.
This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday; varying daytime shifts. This position is Casual in nature; therefore, the number of hours of work per week cannot be forecasted.
