Job summary

MJB is seeking a full-time accounting clerk to support the accounting department with daily and monthly transactional tasks in Kamloops, BC. The role covers POS entries, deposits, bank transfers, disbursements, and client statements, with emphasis on accuracy and timely processing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Typing speed 50 wpm.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Office environment experience.
• Team player with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Input daily POS and online payment deposits.
• Review and process bank transfers, trust, and general deposits.
• Upload office disbursements, postage, printing, and photocopies.
• Generate debit memos and cheques for various accounts and fees.
• Review and process payment plan arrangements for outstanding accounts.
• Close files within the firm’s accounting system.
• Generate and process daily deposits, including cheques.
• Review and file posted invoices.
• Follow up on A/R reports and client statements.
