Job description

D.M. Wills Associates Limited is looking for an Accounting Clerk for a 6-month contract.

Reporting to the Controller the Accounting Clerk is responsible for Accounts Payable (including employee expense payments) data entry in the support of corporate accounting services and other accounting duties which may be assigned by the Controller. In addition this role supports other corporate activities as required including reception.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Monitor update and reconcile corporate accounts and inventory tracking via spreadsheets and / or the company financial management system.
  • Execute Month End activities including Bank Account Reconciliation Benefits Report Accrual and Prepaid Account analysis Depreciation and other recurring accounting Journal Entries.
  • Process Accounts Payable from entering into the financial accounting system to payment of vendors.
  • Process employee expense claim payments during bi-weekly payroll in a timely manner.
  • Monitor manage and facilitate the Corporate Cell Phone Plan
  • Process the receipt of client payments.
  • Manage both vendor and client WSIB and Insurance certificate requests.
  • Support corporate administrative activities including reception at front desk.
  • Administer petty cash transactions including receipts and disbursements.

Significant Qualifications and Experience :

  • 4-year degree in Business / Accounting or an equivalent related field and / or a combination of relevant work experience is preferred.

Consideration for an individual currently working towards a degree with a focus on accounting will also be considered.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Adobe.
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets demonstrate critical thinking in producing various analyses and tables as well as develop charts / graphs in both Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail accuracy and ability to self-review.
  • Ability to adapt to versatile deliverables / analyses and demonstrate logic / reasoning.
  • Exhibit strong time management skills and work ethic with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to work on several projects or issues simultaneously.
  • Desire to learn and be involved in a variety of projects and a dynamic work environment.
