About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Assistant Manager – Research & Continuing Care, the Accounting Clerk handles accounting functions and maintains data integrity within Financial Services. Acts as a first contact for customers, ensuring alignment with Nova Scotia Health’s values, ethics, safety, quality, and collaborative principles.

About You

We seek candidates with:

  • A two-year post-secondary accounting diploma and at least one year of accounting experience in a computerized environment within the last five years.
  • Experience with Seascape and SAP is an asset.
  • Experience in healthcare is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently with high accuracy amidst interruptions.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Accountability, sound judgment, decision-making, and customer service skills.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and ethical practices.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites.
  • Knowledge of additional languages, especially French, is an asset.

Hours
  • Full-time, 70 hours bi-weekly, 12-month duration.
Compensation and Benefits

$23.66 - $26.77 hourly. Benefits include health, dental, travel, long-term disability, life insurance, and a pension plan.
