Accounting Clerk

Location: Vaughan

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Managing Director in orchestrating the firm’s financial operations, trust accounting, intercompany transactions and GST/HST filings.
  2. Processing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR) and disbursements.
  3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  4. Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure financial stability.
  5. Ensure compliance with all legal, tax, and regulatory requirements specific to the legal industry.
  6. Collaborate with management to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  7. Reconcile accounts, including trust accounts, and ensure proper allocation of funds.
  8. Assist with year-end audits and liaise with external auditors if necessary.
  9. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation not required but preferred.
  2. Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in accounting, demonstrated experience working within a professional services environment a must.
  3. Familiarity with trust accounting.
  4. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, PCLaw, Soluno) and advanced Excel skills.
  5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  6. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
