We’re looking for an Accounting Clerk to join Marble to day-to-day finance and bookkeeping activities, and coordinate AR/AP. Our Accounting Clerk will report directly to the Manager of Finance as a core member of our Finance Team, playing a critical role in enabling faster & more accurate reporting company-wide, and empowering teams across the company with the right data to make better decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Balance and maintain accurate ledgers, general journal entries on a weekly basis
  • Monthly bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations
  • Process cheques and coordinate bank deposits
  • Prepare invoices and follow up with customers on outstanding balances
  • Process and coordinate payment for vendor invoices
  • Identify opportunities for improving our reporting function and capabilities
  • Assist the Finance Manager with ad hoc projects


Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in a bookkeeper or similar accounting role
  • Experience with full cycle accounting process
  • Proficiency in MS office (specifically Excel), accounting and payment processing software tools
  • Extensive experience with data entry and accurate record keeping
  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to problem-solve
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated behaviors that reinforce Medchart values: Hunger, Humility, and Care
  • Based in the Greater Toronto Area


Bonus Experience

  • Experience with Quickbooks Online
  • Experience in running payroll and processing expense reimbursements in ADP
  • Experience working in high-growth start up or scale up companies
  • Prior experience with Canada and US income tax, and sales tax filings
  • Prior experience with US GAAP accounting standards
