Purpose And Scope Of Position

Position at Dumas

  • Position Title: Accounting Clerk
  • Department: Finance
  • Location: Timmins, ON
  • Reports To: Financial Controller
Responsibilities
  • Assist with invoicing and accounts payable functions daily.
  • Prepare and submit customer invoices.
  • Handle customer queries.
  • Follow up with customers for payments.
  • Record receipts and payments.
  • Interact with employees, banks, customers, and vendors to resolve issues.
  • Ensure accuracy in reports, figures, and postings.
  • Enter employee claims and supplier invoices in Sage 300.
  • Maintain spreadsheets as supporting schedules.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Knowledge
Technical Competencies
  • Basic accounting knowledge and skills.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of the contracting industry and mining is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.

  • Integrity and trustworthiness, adhering to the company's code of conduct.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (bilingual skills are an asset).
