The Gabriel Dumont Institute is seeking an Accounting Clerk for an eight-month term position. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will maintain accurate records, assist with audits, and provide quality client service. A strong background in accounting and a deep understanding of the Métis community are recommended for success in this role.
The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following 8 (eight) month term position as:

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Finance, or designate, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for maintaining records for accounting functions and assisting with audits; keeping up-to-date and accurate data of clients, students, vendors, and customers within the Great Plains Accounting System; ensuring quality client service; entering client funding packages and amendments including assisting with the processing of student payroll; the accurate entering and processing of vendor and customer invoices in both the accounts payable and accounts receivable areas of the department; processing vendor payments and customer receipts in a timely manner; and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have an Accounting/Business Certificate or Diploma; a combination of relevant experience and course completion will be considered; experience with the Great Plains Accounting System is an asset; the ability to multi-task, solve problems, and meet deadlines; work independently and as a member of a team; strong organizational and computer skills is required. A sound working knowledge of the Métis community is a significant asset. Attention to detail is a key requirement of this position.
