Job summary

A reputable electrical contracting firm located in York Region is seeking an experienced Accountant to coordinate project communication and maintain accurate financial documentation. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Accounting or Finance and possesses strong skills in accounting software and MS Excel. This full-time position offers exposure to diverse projects in various sectors across Ontario and Alberta.

Qualifications

  • Degree/diploma in Accounting or Finance (CPA an asset).
  • Experience in accounting or project administration (construction background preferred).
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with field, admin, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communication between field teams, administration, and/or clients.
  • Provide support to field staff and relay information to stakeholders.
  • Procure necessary materials and ensure their availability on-site.

With 70+ years of experience, they deliver high-quality commercial, institutional and industrial projects — from lighting and fire safety systems to building automation, cabling and EV-charging infrastructure. They work closely with hospitals, schools, universities and major corporations, giving team members exposure to diverse, high-profile projects. They are seeking an experienced Accountant to join their dynamic team!

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate communication between field teams, administration, and/or clients to ensure smooth project execution
  • Provide timely support to field staff and relay information to relevant stakeholders
  • Procure and arrange for necessary materials and ensure their availability on-site when needed
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for all jobs and projects, ensuring requested documents are accessible at all times
  • Assemble and prepare closeout documents for completed projects to present to clients and consultants, facilitating permit closure and project handover
  • Other duties assigned
Requirements
  • Degree/diploma in Accounting or Finance (CPA an asset)
  • Experience in accounting or project administration (construction background preferred)
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with field, admin, and clients
  • Knowledge of procurement and vendor management
  • Ability to maintain organized project and financial documentation
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time-management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
