Job description

The Town of Esterhazy is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, utility billing, reconciliations, and reporting. This role ensures accurate financial records while providing responsive service to staff, vendors, and residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process invoices, receipts, utility billing, and collections.
  • Balance daily receipts, prepare deposits, and reconcile petty cash.
  • Enter data, post to the general ledger, and maintain financial records.
  • Assist with reports, audits, grants, and special projects.
  • Maintain both physical and electronic filing systems with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Respond to finance-related inquiries and provide customer service.
  • Ensure all work is conducted professionally and in compliance with Town policies
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Grade 12 or GED (Office Administration Certificate or related post-secondary education is an asset)
  • Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers licence with clean abstract
  • RCMP security clearance, including a vulnerable sector check
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Munisoft experience is an asset
  • Strong accuracy, organization, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with municipal or public sector finance is an asset.

This position includes structured progression through three defined levels based on hours worked, demonstrated skills, and ongoing training.
