Robert Half is seeking an Accounting Clerk for a company in the Food & Food Processing industry, responsible for supporting departmental needs. The role involves matching invoices to purchase orders, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). We offer a dynamic, team-oriented environment, excellent benefits, and opportunities for career growth. This is a short-term contract/temporary position based in Cambridge, Ontario.

Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipts, process invoices/credits, and assist with collecting past due balances.
  2. Organize documents, determining proper classification of expenditure and accounting codes.
  3. Record financial data in journals and ledgers.
  4. Prepare financial statements and reports using multiple sources.
  5. Assist with general accounting tasks such as G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, along with ad hoc projects.
  6. Identify and resolve discrepancies by investigating sources of disagreement, reconstructing actions, and recognizing effects on other accounts; prepare correction documents as needed.
  7. Support Accounts Payable: invoice matching, filing, and vendor invoice processing.
Job Requirements
  1. Experience with spreadsheets and ERP systems is preferred.
  2. Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with a deep understanding of its features.
  4. Experience with data entry.
  5. AA or BS/BA in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
