Job description

Layfield is seeking an enthusiastic Accounting Associate to join our accounting team in Richmond, BC. This is an 8-month contract position with the possibility of permanent employment.

You are a team player who wants to work with a talented and diverse group.

You will be responsible for full cycle processing of accounts payable transactions for Layfield Canada Ltd and Layfield Flexible Films.

You will report to the Controller and work closely with Accounts Payable Specialists and a Divisional Accountant.

You will also provide support to the CFO, Supply Chain Manager, Purchasing Coordinator, Operations Manager, and Maintenance Manager.

Duties include :
  1. Obtaining approvals, coding, matching, entering vendor invoices, and processing disbursements according to vendor terms.
  2. Handling credit and collections, revenue identification, cost analysis reporting, and reconciliation of CAD and USD customer cash and credit accounts using the SYSPRO reporting system and BMO online banking portal.
  3. Performing monthly close duties, including general ledger journal entry preparation, variance reporting, reconciliations, and account analysis.
  4. Documenting processes and procedures to support external and internal financial and operational audits.
  5. Managing inventory count reconciliation, adjustments, and reporting.
  6. Applying professional accounting theories, policies, and practices to credit analysis, cost and inventory control, cash flow, and accounts receivable functions within the Richmond branch of Layfield Canada Ltd.
  7. Assisting with and recommending changes to policies and procedures for cash handling within departments and divisions.
  8. Collaborating with all departments to address and resolve issues.

This position works Monday to Friday in Richmond, BC, close to transit and highway access.

Salary range for this position is $48,000 to $53,000 per year.
