T&T Supermarket is seeking an Accounting Associate in Canada to support daily accounting duties within the Finance & Accounting Department. You will help ensure invoice accuracy, process supplier invoices, and code items to the correct accounts while preparing monthly A/P closings.

The role requires an accounting education and at least 1 year of accounting experience. Strong analytical skills and MS Excel proficiency are essential; knowledge of Macola is a plus.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, the Accounting Associate will be responsible for providing daily accounting duties and administrative support for the Finance & Accounting Department, ensures the accuracy of invoices, and to comply with the applicable tax laws, accepted accounting practices, rules, and regulations.

You Will

• Ensure accuracy and consistency of invoices & documents to comply with all applicable requirements
• Check supplier invoices and place them in order
• Ensure items are coded to proper accounts
• Responsible for preparing monthly closing of A/P
• Possess analytical skills to find discrepancies between A/P input and G/L
• Verify that incoming invoices match the provincial & federal tax rules
• Stay current with all regulations, practices, and industry trends
• Perform periodic &/or ad hoc sales reconciliation
• Perform any other duties as required

You Should Have / Be

• Complete University/College education with major in Accounting
• 1 year of working experience in accounting areas
• Computer literate, including effective working skills of Macola (training will be provided), MS Word, and Excel
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Able to communicate in English and ability to speak Chinese (Cantonese &/or Mandarin) is an asset
• Meticulous with a strong attention to detail
• Able to work in a fast-paced office environment with minimum supervision
• Able to handle confidential information professionally and in an ethical manner
• Demonstrates a keen sense of urgency and commitment to follow up and meet multiple deadlines without compromising on work quality

Shift

5-day work week (Monday to Friday), 9:00am – 5:30pm (Actual working hours may vary slightly by department, depending on operational needs.)
