Job description

CES Energy Solutions is a dynamic and growing North American oilfield services company listed on the TSX as CEU with revenue of over $2 billion. It is one of the largest providers of production chemicals and drilling fluid systems and is focused on being the leading provider of technically advanced chemical solutions throughout the life-cycle of the oilfield.

PureChem Services, the Canadian production chemical division of CES Energy Solutions, is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and organized individual to fill the position of Accounting Assistant - Accounts Payable. This full time, diverse position is located in Red Deer, Alberta and has many detail-oriented duties to challenge the right candidate. This position reports directly to the Office Manager. The candidate will also have a willingness to work in fast paced Oil and Gas logistics environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Process and enter supplier invoices and credit memos in a timely manner, using Microsoft AX.
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders.
  • Obtaining proper authorization for purchase orders and non-purchase order invoices.
  • Coding invoices with general ledger account and related project and budget codes.
  • Update reports and spreadsheets as required.
  • Maintain records and files.
  • Reconcile vendor statements.
  • Respond to and follow-up on internal and external inquiries.
  • Resolve any problems and invoice issues.
  • Assist with payment processing as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications include:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in Accounts Payable or Collections working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.
  • Diploma or certificate in accounting or business or relevant experience would be an asset.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with the ability reconcile and quickly identify problems/solutions is required.
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office, intermediate Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to help client problem solve and defuse situations.
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple personalities in a demanding, fast paced environment.
  • Desire to work in a team focused environment.
