Job summary

Freightos subsidiary Clearit Canada is seeking a detail‑oriented bookkeeper/accounts receivable professional in Montreal to manage reconciliations between US and Canadian entities, AR outreach, and routine office payments. You will support monthly closes and collaborate with the Accounting Manager to ensure accurate financial records.

The role offers a hybrid workplace, a 9–5 EST schedule, and a competitive CAD salary with benefits including paid time off and health coverage after probation.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of experience in bookkeeping, AR, or related roles.
• Experience handling transactions across US and Canadian entities.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-accuracy daily reconciliations for US operations and monthly reconciliations for Canadian operations.
• Conduct AR outreach, issue statements, and maintain aging reports.
• Provide professional communication to resolve billing inquiries and enable timely collections.
• Manage payments for routine operational expenses across offices (rent, utilities, vendors).
• Support the broader accounting team with monthly close and ad-hoc tasks.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Reconciliations. Perform high-accuracy daily reconciliations for our US operations and monthly reconciliations for our Canadian operations.
• Accounts Receivable Management. Conduct outreach to customers regarding outstanding balances, issue monthly statements of account, maintain clear record-keeping, and generate AR tracking and aging reports.
• Customer Communication. Provide professional, clear, and courteous written and verbal communication to resolve customer billing inquiries and ensure timely collections.
• Office & AP Administration. Manage and process payments for routine operational expenses across both our offices including rent, utilities, vendor bills, and general office expenses.
• Accounting Team Support. Assist the broader accounting team with monthly close processes, documentation, and ad-hoc financial support as needed.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts receivable, or a combined accounting and office administration role.
• Basic understanding or experience handling transactions across both US and Canadian entities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach to AR outreach and customer service.
• Proficiency with accounting software/platforms and intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills.
• High attention to detail, strong accuracy, and the ability to prioritize tasks independently across daily and monthly timelines.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working in transactional-based, logistics, or customs brokerage companies.
• Bilingualism (English / French)
