Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant to support our finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks across payroll, accounts payable, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping tasks. This role is ideal for someone with a strong grasp of bookkeeping principles, excellent organizational skills, and a desire to grow within the accounting field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with processing accounts payable, including coding invoices and preparing payments communicating internally and externally with vendors.
  • Support payroll processing by entering data, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Provide general bookkeeping support and assist with month-end tasks.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting files.
  • Help prepare for audits and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with team members to support smooth financial operations.
  • Flexibility to assist with other duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Diploma or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (tourism / hospitality industry experience is an asset).
  • Familiarity with accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
