The Role

The Accounting Clerk will perform a variety of duties from data entry to reporting generation and analysis. Responsibilities will include reconciling the bank accounts, coding transactions, reconciling sub-ledgers, and accounts, providing ad-hoc reporting, analyzing financial reports, and completing month-end reporting and related transactions.

Your contributions to the team include:
  • Reconcile bank accounts daily, identify discrepancies, and determine the reason, make related journal entries as needed.
  • Review restaurant and golf course daily cash outs and enforce appropriate cash management procedures.
  • Calculate, prepare, and issue documents related to GL accounts such as invoices, inventory, reports, account statements and other financial statements.
  • Code, total, enter and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, credit cards, purchase orders, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements.
  • Support of month end reporting through account reconciliations, intercompany balancing, and assist in project reporting and variance from budget analysis.
  • Use computer systems to run databases, extract transaction details, and create reports.
  • Respond to internal and external information requests, maintaining good employee relations and solve problems.
  • Assist with implementation of policies and procedures, including communication and training of procedures to all necessary golf course staff.
  • Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.

  • Minimum 1 year working experience in accounting.

  • Strong working skills in MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new software.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet established deadlines.
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
