Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies, contributing to the preparation of consolidated financial statements, and performing all transactional accounting activities in a project accounting context. This includes implementing procedures and work practices to enhance the performance and efficiency of the department.

Responsibilities

More specifically, the Accounting Analyst must :

  • Actively contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes across multiple entities, including bank reconciliations, AP and AR closing, month-end entries, accounts revaluation, cost center allocations, inter-company reconciliations, and analysis to document and support balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare month-end entries, including prepaid expenses, accruals, and depreciation.
  • Ensure that month-end activities are carried out fully and within prescribed deadlines.
  • Collaborate with external accounting firms across multiple countries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with local regulations. Share detailed financial data to support proper local booking, and review financial statements prepared externally to ensure alignment with internal records for accurate global consolidation.
  • Perform detailed analysis of the trial balance at the end of each month to identify abnormal deviations and perform necessary analysis to justify or correct them.
  • Develop and implement working procedures and practices for the team, respecting current accounting standards, to speed up processing, minimize errors, ensure compliance with deadlines, and document internal processes, especially during the implementation of new IT tools.
  • Provide support to the payroll, treasury, AP & AR teams, ensuring compliance with contracts, supplier conditions, corporate policies, and local regulations.
  • Prepare various management reports for different sector managers (CRO, finance, HR, admin, clinic, etc.).
  • Prepare government remittance reports.
  • Employees may be assigned other responsibilities outside their original description if they have the required experience, are qualified, and/or have received adequate training.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

Experience:

  • CPA accounting title or CPA student/candidate in process of certification.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role; experience in a large multinational is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and basic knowledge of international accounting standards.
  • Experience with ERP systems like Infor FSM, including consolidation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Energetic, detail-oriented, autonomous, responsible, and positive attitude.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
