Job summary

Banyan Capital Partners, in partnership with Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group, is seeking an Accounting Analyst for its portfolio company MIP. This role supports full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, you will perform journal entries, month‑end close, reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll, and indirect tax filings (GST/HST, QST) while assisting with T2 and corporate tax

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years progressive accounting/finance experience with exposure to full-cycle accounting.
• Experience with ERP systems; MS Dynamics 365 / Business Central is a plus.
• Public accounting experience is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting and tax requirements (GST/HST, QST, corporate tax).
• Knowledge of ASPE and/or IFRS is a plus.
• Strong analytical, detail oriented and problem solving abilities.
• Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including closing entries and reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and supporting reports
• Validate monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Process and reconcile payroll transactions
• Prepare or coordinate indirect tax filings (GST/HST and QST) as applicable
• Assist with corporate tax documentation and support T2 filing requirements
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (ASPE and/or IFRS)
• Liaise with external auditors, financial institutions, consultants, and tax authorities (CRA and Revenu Québec)
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to accounting processes, systems and controls
• Participate in ERP/financial system upgrades, implementations or migrations (MS Dynamics 365/BC)
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data across accounting systems

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting or finance experience with exposure to full-cycle accounting
• Experience working with ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central is considered an asset
• Previous experience within a public accounting firm is considered an asset
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting and tax requirements, including GST/HST, QST, and corporate tax processes
• Knowledge of ASPE and/or IFRS considered an asset
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable working style
• Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken
