American Iron & Metal Company (AIM) in Montreal seeks a Senior Accounting Analyst to support month-end activities, financial reporting, and process improvements. You will work with operations and finance to ensure accurate financial data, drive automation, and provide insightful analysis for business decisions.

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, you will handle journal entries, month-end close, balance sheet analyses, and ad-hoc models while advancing financial processes and metrics across

Qualifications

• College or University degree in accounting/finance.
• Minimum of 4 to 5 years in accounting, working on financial systems.
• Very strong with Excel.
• Experience improving financial processes.
• Demonstrate leadership and critical thinking.
• Autonomous, methodical, analytical and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Book recurring journal entries in GL.
• Prepare month-end close.
• Lead variance analysis of P&L.
• Prepare balance sheet analysis.
• Develop financial models and ad-hoc analyses for improvements.
• Participate in automation/optimization of processes.
• Improve the streamlining of financial metrics.
• Ensure recommendations improve accuracy of financial information.
• Identify areas for improvements.
• Support operations as liaison to the finance team.

Job Description

As a key member of the Finance team, the Senior Accounting Analyst plays a critical role in supporting month-end activities, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Working closely with operations and finance stakeholders, this position contributes to the accuracy of financial information, drives efficiencies through automation and optimization, and provides insightful analysis to support informed business decisions.

What you're responsible for:

Reporting to theAccounting supervisor, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities/tasks:

• Book recurring journal entries inGL;
• Prepare month-end;
• Lead the variance analysis processof P&L;
• Prepare the analysis of balancesheet;
• Develop financial models and analysis to support improvements initiatives on an ad-hocbasis;
