A North American leader in specialty hardware is searching for an Accounting Analyst in Montreal. The role involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, conducting variance analyses, and supporting special projects. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting and 3 to 5 years of experience, with strong Excel skills and bilingual proficiency in French and English. We are currently seeking to fill a permanent full-time position for an Accounting Analyst at our Ville St-Laurent office.
Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting and Internal Controls, the Accounting Analyst will play a key role in the production and analysis of financial statements for various off-system entities within the group. This position presents an excellent opportunity to actively contribute to process improvements while strengthening your accounting expertise.
More specifically, the main responsibilities of the Accounting Analyst include :
Preparing, analyzing, and validating monthly financial statements for assigned entities.
Performing variance analyses between actual results and budgets, and providing clear and relevant explanations for significant differences.
Collaborating on optimization projects for off-system entities.
Providing accounting support for special projects such as acquisitions and integrations.
Performing and validating monthly and quarterly financial analyses.
Participating in internal control testing related to operational processes, in accordance with the requirements of Bill 52-109 for public companies.
Assisting with external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor requests.
The ideal candidate is someone who :
Has a strong understanding of the full accounting cycle.
Demonstrates advanced analytical skills to interpret financial data.
Is highly organized and skilled in managing priorities.
Possesses strong communication abilities.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
3 to 5 years of professional accounting experience, part of which was in a structured environment, ideally in the public sector.
Advanced knowledge of Excel.
Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.
