American Iron & Metal (AIM) is a global leader in metal recycling with a network of sites worldwide. We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accounting Analyst to join our finance team and drive financial reporting, analysis, and process improvements across the organization.

Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting support, and audits, while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
• 4–7+ years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., D365, Maximo).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform complex account reconciliations and variance analyses.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Ensure GAAP compliance, internal controls, and policies.
• Support audits and provide required documentation.
• Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and leadership teams.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accounting Analyst to join our finance team. This role plays a key part in financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement, supporting accurate accounting operations and informed business decisions.

What you're responsible for:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform complex account reconciliations and variance analyses
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
• Support internal and external audits, including documentation and audit requests
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, and leadership teams
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Mentor junior accounting staff as needed

Qualifications

To join our team:

• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• You are a CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
• You have 4–7+ years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience
• You have Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• You have Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
• You have Experience with ERP systems (e.g., D365, Maximo ... )
• You have Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• You have the Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
