We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our professional team as an Accounting Analyst at our Head Office located in Mississauga, ON.

Please note, to be considered for this position, applicants should currently reside in Canada and be legally entitled to work.

Job Scope

You will report directly to the Accounting Supervisor. Your responsibilities will include preparing and managing monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, overseeing financial activities, and analyzing financial information to assess current and future financial performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Diligently prepare various balance sheet account reconciliations, obtain necessary detailed transactions, and investigate and correct reconciling items.
  • Utilize analytical review techniques when reviewing journal entries, account activity, and account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and identify discrepancies or errors.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including creating fixed assets in the sub-ledger, calculating and applying depreciation, ensuring schedule accuracy, and reconciling fixed asset in-progress accounts.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and ad hoc reports to support business decisions.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes in accordance with company requirements.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to accounting and internal control policies, procedures, and practices for financial statement preparation.
  • Support new projects that add value to the organization.
  • Respond to internal or external requests or inquiries.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in finance or accounting, focusing on reconciliation
  • Previous experience in a related field; knowledge of rental construction equipment is an asset
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and reporting standards
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and Power BI
  • Experience with Blackline is an asset
  • Proficient in full-cycle accounting
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive attitude
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
