Count on this! We are looking for an experienced finance professional to join our Financial Services team for the next year! This position is situated within the Treasury department of Financial Planning. The Treasury department is responsible for managing the investment and debt portfolios, overseeing the utilization of reserves, developing financial models and formulating funding strategies.

This role will join our amazing team of Accountants who prepare summaries of accounts, perform analysis and reporting, balance and reconcile statements, prepare journal entries, deliver financial reporting, provide accurate and efficient financial functions and assist the public with municipal transactions. Our Accountants review and analyze various financial reports and initiate corrective action; Accountants also direct the work of other financial services staff and train and advise other staff and customers on accounting functions, policies and procedures.

An Accountant initiates, implements, reviews, monitors, modifies and provides training for financial reporting and accounting systems.

Duties - Union

  • Analyzes accounting and operating procedures and initiates improvements.
  • Reviews, advises and participates in the day to day processing of financial records.
  • Trains and advises other staff and customers on accounting functions, policies and procedures.
  • Provides special projects accounting services requiring coordination with other departments. and agencies, including grants and other recoveries.
  • Prepares complex reconciliations on sub-ledgers and account balances.
  • Directs the work of other financial services staff.
  • Reviews and analyzes various financial reports and initiates corrective action.
