Position Summary:

As the Senior Accountant, you will be a crucial member of the finance team, driving delivery of monthly Financial Statements in a timely manner, and a key contributor in the successful implementation of initiatives to support the business.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in month-end reporting process and perform necessary analysis and reporting.
  • Performs account reconciliations for balance sheet and P&L items.
  • Responsible for Fixed Asset accounting.
  • Reconciles bank accounts monthly.
  • Performs purchase price variance calculation.
  • Supports business needs by performing analyses to provide data for decision-making purposes (margin analysis, cost analysis, etc.).
  • Understands and communicates production performance and helps site management identify and address areas of concern within expenses and unfavorable variances.
  • Calculation of standard costs.
  • Contribute to annual rolling of standard costs and required current cost updates throughout the year.
  • Identify cost trends and make recommendations for actions/solutions.
  • Become a power user of Vizion database reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a professional attitude.
  • Advanced Excel Skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP or Oracle (Microsoft Dynamics AX an asset).
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize several different tasks.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Results-driven, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, including sense of urgency in delivering month-end results.
  • Experience in accounting for manufacturing operations a plus.

Education and Certification:

  • Completed CPA designation.
