As an Accountant, Privately Held Business Group [New Grad 2026 – Tax Pathway] your responsibilities will include:
- Working with a broad range of charity, not-for-profit and small business clients
- Preparing year-end financial statements and working paper files for audit, review and compilation engagements
- Accounting and bookkeeping including drafting journal entries and reconciling accounts
- Recommend tax strategies
- Develop tax expertise through regular preparation of tax filings in completion of T1s (personal tax returns), T2s (Corporation tax returns) and T3s (Trust returns) and responding to related CRA requests for information
- Providing solutions to our clients on current business and financial conditions
- Working closely with clients and providing exceptional client service
- Working with clients in target industry sectors under varying reporting frameworks
- Building our reputation as the preferred business advisors in key sectors of our growing practice

At Doane Grant Thornton, we’re committed to ensuring our compensation practices are fair, equitable and competitive. To get the conversation started, we’re happy to share that our current base salary for this role ranges from $49,000 - $55,000 in Kamloops. If this role is available in another location(s), the associated salary range in that location(s) may vary based on relevant factors, including geography.
