  • Maintain fixed asset ledger and calculate gains/losses.
  • Support monthly and quarterly close processes.
  • Prepare analytical reports and summaries.

Job description

Our client is a long-established leader in the food industry, with over 120 years of experience in their field.

The organization has a diverse operational footprint, with facilities in both Canada (British Columbia) and the United States (Washington and Alaska), employing nearly 4,000 people during peak season.

They are currently seeking an accountant to join their team, with the opportunity to be trained on the unique aspects of this dynamic and specialized industry.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage inventory purchasing, raw material allocation, and costing of finished goods
  2. Perform inventory reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  3. Conduct bank reconciliations on a regular basis
  4. Handle reconciliations for prepaids, interledger, and intercompany accounts
  5. Maintain the fixed asset ledger, track amortization schedules, and calculate gains or losses on disposals
  6. Support monthly and quarterly close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, lead sheet preparation, and coordination with external auditors
  7. Record periodic journal entries for adjustments and accruals
  8. Prepare analytical reports and summaries as needed
  9. Participate in various special projects and perform other assigned duties

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in inventory management required
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
