Our client, a globally recognized organization in the Financial Services Industry is seeking a Accountant to join their growing team! This role is full time permanent with benefits, paid vacation, sick days and fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage weekly timesheets to accurately track employee working hours.
• Coordinate with external auditors by preparing required schedules and supporting documentation for audits and financial reviews.
• Provide support for financial analysis, reporting, and other special projects as required.
• Record daily carrier deposits to maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking of incoming funds.
• Support the onboarding process by preparing necessary employment documentation.
• Manage all Accounts Payable activities, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and agent commissions.
• Contribute to regulatory compliance by assisting in the preparation of financial and tax documentation, including year-end payroll tax filings.
• Verify all monthly financial transactions are properly recorded and reflected in the trial balance.
• Prepare and maintain reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial records.
• Assist with maintaining confidential employee records and support HR-related tasks as needed.
• Monitor and reconcile daily bank transactions to support accurate cash flow management.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and adjustments to ensure the integrity of financial statements.
• Develop detailed financial reports to support internal decision-making and meet corporate reporting requirements.
• Process commission payments for staff and agents in accordance with established policies.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in a full-cycle accounting role is required.

Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related program is required.

Working towards a CPA( Chartered Professional Accountant) designation is preferred.

Experience within a financial services environment is an asset.

Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

Strong attention to detail, with outstanding organizational and time management abilities.

Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.

Solid understanding of business operations and financial systems, with the ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures effectively.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
