This role is considered Hybrid, which means the employee will work 2-3 days onsite at a Company designated location and occasionally from home.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an Accountant to join the Vancouver finance team. This position will play a vital role in taking part in accounting and tax. Ultimately, this role will be the primary provider of financial support and analyses to several local teams and the accounting function.

The Finance Accountant will be responsible for performing accounting duties related to General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable and tax.

Responsibilities:

General accounting responsibility including but not limited to analyzing and reconciliation of specific accounts, preparing journal entries and monthly accruals.

Perform month end multi-currency calculations including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, production incentive accruals, intercompany revenue and expense accruals.

Processing accounts payable and wire payment requests, including reviewing, coding, securing approvals and entering invoices and employee expense reports for both production and non production expenses.

Process and make bank deposits when required.

Prepares billings for re-billable costs as required.

Reconcile credit card statements and manage virtual cards.

Complete other financial reports, special projects or analyses, as assigned.

Prepare GST/HST and PST for monthly/quarterly filings.

Collecting and managing tax audit supporting documentation.

Prepare production service tax credit calculations and declarations.

Here are the skills and experience you need to be successful in this role:

Proficient in Excel. Intermediate to advanced Excel a plus.

Substantial experience with Oracle, SAP or MS Dynamics applications required

Entertainment industry finance/accounting experiences a plus.

Must have strong organization, communication, and time management skills. Must be solution-oriented with an ability to prioritize tasks and remain very detail

Must be flexible and have the ability to work well individually with all levels of personnel as well as part of a team.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or diploma in Accounting.

At least 3+ years of accounting experience, in a computerized environment.

The hiring range for this position in Vancouver is C$63,400 to C$81,100 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other variable pay or benefits, may be offered dependent on the level and position offered.
