Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in areas such as compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
• Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and/or ASPE.
• Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses, manage multiple files, and conduct inventory counts.
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset transactions, and payroll walkthroughs professionally with clients.
• Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing relevant reports like balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
• Assess the appropriateness of audit evidence for various financial entries.
• Review, investigate, and correct discrepancies in financial documents and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting.
• Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations on engagement findings.
• Collaborate with the engagement team and build client relationships.
• Contribute to process improvements using internal programs and systems.
• Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.

Skills and Experience

• Completion of or progress towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, preferably with an accounting or finance major.
• Prerequisites for CPA PEP admission or working towards them.
• Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
• Customer service experience is an asset.
• Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.
