Overview
Growing capital management firm is looking for a highly organized and motivated Intermediate Accountant to join our finance team. This role will take on greater responsibility in full-cycle accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting across our subsidiaries and parent company. The Accountant will play a key role in supporting public-company reporting, compliance, and audit preparation, while mentoring junior staff and working directly with senior leadership.

Responsibilities
Subsidiary & Corporate Accounting
- Oversee full-cycle accounting for multiple subsidiaries, including AP, AR, payroll, and intercompany transactions.
- Review and approve bookkeeping entries prepared by Junior Accountant(s).
- Prepare subsidiary financials and consolidate into parent company results.
Month-End & Year-End Close
- Lead monthly and quarterly close processes.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for balance sheet and P&L accounts.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP / IFRS.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assist with corporate financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Support SEC / public company reporting and PCAOB audit requirements.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights to management.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Maintain and improve internal controls across all entities.
- Prepare audit-ready working papers and liaise with external auditors.
- Ensure tax and regulatory compliance in coordination with external advisors.
Team & Process Development
- Mentor and support Junior Accountant(s) on bookkeeping and reporting tasks.
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices across accounting workflows.
- Support integration of new acquisitions into financial systems and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience (public company or audit firm experience is an asset).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP required; IFRS exposure a plus).
- Experience with consolidations and multi-entity structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting / ERP systems (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, etc.).
- Strong communicator who can work across subsidiaries and with senior leadership.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines independently.
- Career-motivated and looking to grow into a Senior Accountant or Controller role.
