Job description

BMW Toronto is one of Ontario’s premier BMW dealerships and we’re looking for someone to take on the accountant role within our growing team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all aspects of automotive dealership accounting and will report to the Controller. If you have 3 to 5 years of dealership experience and are looking to take your career to the next level then we want to hear from you!

*This position is full-time onsite at BMW Toronto

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, balance and post vehicle deals into the general ledger
  • Review and reconcile all vehicle related schedules
  • Review and reconcile parts inventory schedules
  • Processing on demand cheques including lien payouts, customer refunds and dealer trade purchases.
  • Accounts payables including coding invoices, posting and issuing payments in a timely manner
  • Reconciling and processing warranty remittances and aftermarket payables
  • Perform bank reconciliations as required
  • Assist with accounts receivable reconciliations of customer and departmental cash clearing accounts
  • Monitor floorplan accounts to ensure payments are submitted within guidelines.
  • Review vehicle purchases and Inventory schedule maintenance
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing
  • Other accounting duties as required by management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post secondary education with accounting background
  • 3-5 years of relevant automotive accounting experience
  • Experience using Reynolds & Reynolds dealership management software
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a timely manner
