Purpose :
- Contributes to the overall success of the Product Control / Corporate Banking function in Canada and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
- Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Control Corporate Banking, the role is primarily responsible for the preparation and analysis of daily / monthly accounting, balancing and reconciliation for the Corporate Lending business. Prepares assets and liabilities financial reports and various MIS reports monthly / quarterly.
- The individual is responsible for the above processes in accordance with strict control procedures. Such control procedures are critical to the accuracy of all reporting.
- This role will interact with several functional areas within and outside of Product Control. The key internal relationships outside of Product Control will be with the Corporate and Investment Banking Front Office, GWO Lending Services, Accounting & Control team within Product Control, Technology and GBM Finance units.

Key Accountabilities :
- Produce and review daily GL account reconciliations between the Corporate Banking loans source system and the General ledger.
- Produce and review monthly GL account reconciliations between the General ledger and EGL.
- Produce and review daily P&L for the Corporate Banking business for loading to the P&L platform and ensure accuracy. Reconcile source data load to P&L platform and ensure that books are certified daily.
- Liaise with GBM Finance as needed regarding month-end business line adjustments.
- Monthly Balance Sheet Substantiation – for Toronto & International Transits, as assigned.
- Prepare quarterly LC Guarantee Fair Market Value Reports, as needed.
- Cross training and filling in for other positions to cover vacation and absence. Resolve any exceptions and questions escalated from the accounting officers relating to the Corporate Loans transits.
Must have skills :
- 10+ years of experience as Accountant or similar role.
- 2+ years of experience as a Product Control Analyst
- 5+ years of experience producing, reviewing and resolving daily GL account reconciliations is crucial for this role.
- 5+ years of experience in daily P&L reporting and analysis.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Advanced Excel (VBA macro, VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
Nice to have :
- Previous experience with Corporate Banking / Corporate Lending products.
- Previous experience with top 5 Canadian banks
Soft Skills Required :
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be highly organized, to work independently and under pressure, and to handle multiple tasks within the tight time constraints.
Education :
- University or post-secondary degree & / or technical background in related field is required
- CPA is nice to have

- The ideal candidate will be an experienced Product Control Analyst with strong exp with producing, reviewing and resolving daily GL account reconciliations and has previous experience with Corporate Lending products.
