Job Title: Accountant

Reports To: Director of Finance

Location: Toronto, Ontario

About Our Team: Warner Music Canada hosts influential artists and nurtures musical talent, contributing significantly to music culture and innovation.

Your Role: We seek a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to support key functions such as month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and tax filings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and ensure the accuracy of financial records.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting monthly and quarterly close processes to meet deadlines.
  2. Preparing and posting journal entries with supporting documentation.
  3. Performing cash and bank reconciliations.
  4. Preparing quarterly and annual reconciliations and supporting financial statement preparation.
  5. Completing and reconciling sales tax filings (e.g., GST/HST).
  6. Maintaining general ledger accounts and assisting with account analysis.
  7. Liaising with auditors.
  8. Communicating risks and opportunities with Finance leadership.
  9. Collaborating with operations to optimize outcomes.
  10. Participating in testing and supporting a new accounting system.
  11. Supporting audits and ad hoc reporting.

About You:

  • CPA designation or in progress (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards (ASPE, IFRS, US GAAP).
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting software (SAP S/4HANA preferred).
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
